We watch the weather very closely, and in case of rain, we reschedule to a different time or day. We keep one or two days open each week specifically for rescheduling needs, ensuring that you’ll still get the best possible session experience.

If it’s windy: It’s a natural part of being at the beach, and while we can't control it, we’ll do our best to position you so the breeze gives your hair and clothes flattering windswept look. A little movement from the wind often adds to the authenticity and relaxed, dreamy vibe that so many of our clients love.

If it’s cloudy: That’s actually great news for photos! A cloudy day doesn’t mean a bad day for a photo session — it gives us softer, more even light, helps eliminate harsh shadows, and offers more flexibility with posing. Your photos will still look bright, colorful.

For the best light and a relaxed, natural vibe, we recommend starting your session an hour after sunrise or two hours before sunset. During these times, the light is soft and warm, giving your photos that beautiful, summery feel. 

Yes! Some great options include the lighthouses, the Whalehead Club in Corolla (a historic mansion with beautiful waterfront grounds), Sanctuary Vineyards in Jarvisburg (a charming vineyard on the mainland), the beautiful historic Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo, and Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head (famous for its giant sand dunes).

It’s completely normal for kids to be active and curious during a session — and we love it that way! We focus on creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere, using gentle prompts and playful activities to spark real smiles, laughter, and genuine interactions. You’ll end up with a beautiful mix of candid moments and a few classic "everyone smiling at the camera" shots too.

Absolutely! We’re big animal lovers and always welcome your furry friends to join the fun. Pets are part of the family too, and they often bring an extra layer of joy and personality to your photos

Once you complete the contact form at the bottom of this page, we will reach out to you via email within 48 hours. After you sign the contract and pay the 30% retainer fee, your date and time will be secured. The retainer fee will be deducted from the full amount of your session. 

We accept cash, checks, PayPal, CashApp and all major credit cards. Whichever is easiest for you

Your retainer fee and signed contract are due at booking. The total amount is due the day of the photoshoot

Most sessions won’t include extra fees, but certain times and locations do come with an additional charge:

• Sunrise and sunset sessions (within one hour of sunrise or sunset) – $100
• Travel fees apply to specific areas:
 – Avon, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras – $75
 – 4x4 area of Corolla/Carova – $100
 – Ocracoke – $200

If any of these apply, the fee will be added to your total and included in the invoice you receive.

Yes, we do! But since the Outer Banks is such a large area, we charge a travel fee for some locations

Your photos will be delivered through a private, online gallery within 2-3 weeks. You’ll receive a link to access the gallery via email.

The number of photos depends on the size of your group and the length of your session. On average, you can expect about 10 or more photos for every 20 min of a photo session.

Yes, while we highly recommend using our print shop (it does an amazing job!) and printing directly from the online gallery you receive, you also have the option to print elsewhere. Your print release is included in the contract.

Your online gallery will remain active for two months, so we recommend downloading your photos within that time. If you need the link reactivated after that period, there will be a $50 fee. We keep your photos on our hard drives for one year, so if you happen to lose them, feel free to reach out within that time, and we'll be happy to assist you. Please note, while we do our best to preserve your images, we're unable to keep all photos from every session indefinitely.
